I am a Lead Behavioral Health Technician at a 17-bed residential treatment center. I love to play tennis, go on hikes, and spend my time as a proud girl dad and devoted husband to my beautiful wife. I also have 2 cats, Ava and Emma. My passion is my faith, helping others, being a devoted husband, and raising our daughter. I have completed some college coursework in California, and I’m currently completing alcohol and drug counseling certification.
I chose ATI because they offered a clear, structured path toward CADC-I certification with practical, real-world relevance. Being 100% online made it possible for me to continue working full-time while staying present for my wife and daughter. My decision to pursue this path is deeply rooted in my own recovery journey, the support of my wife, and the time I’ve spent working directly with clients. Being in the treatment environment every day showed me how meaningful this work is and motivated me to grow from lived experience into professional competence. ATI’s coursework feels directly connected to what happens in treatment centers every day, and the instructors bring real experience that makes the material relatable and applicable. I plan to obtain my CADC-I, continue accumulating supervised hours, transition into a counseling or case management role, and continue developing strong case management skills.
What I like most about my job is being present with clients during some of the most challenging moments of their lives and witnessing small but meaningful changes, which often remind me how important support systems like family are in recovery. I will continue growing toward becoming a substance use counselor, serve clients with integrity and compassion, and build a long-term career in treatment. With the support of my wife and family, I know I’m on the right path and committed to continuing to grow.
