Every student who enrolls with ATI brings a unique story, perspective, and passion for helping others. Each month, we’re proud to spotlight a student whose dedication reflects the heart of this work and the difference behavioral health professionals make every day.
This month, we’re proud to spotlight Celina Hernandez, who brings both professional experience and personal compassion to her work supporting others on their recovery journeys.
In her own words:
I am currently working as a case manager. My hobbies are painting and spending time outdoors with friends. I am from Nicaragua and I got my social worker degree from the Nicaraguan National University. I chose ATI because of its strong reputation, flexible online structure, and the supportive environment it offers students. Taking my courses online helped me balance work, personal responsibilities, and school without feeling overwhelmed.
With my certification I plan to continue working in the field of substance use disorder treatment. I love being able to make a meaningful impact on someone’s life. Seeing clients take small steps forward reminds me why this work matters. My long-term goal is to become a fully licensed counselor and eventually work in a clinical or leadership role within a treatment center, ideally one centered around women or the LGBTQ+ community. I’m proud of where I am now and of the effort I’ve put into my journey, and I feel genuinely excited about the direction my path is taking me.
