Our mission is to make the world a better place by training the people who help others. Our students choose to pursue an education in the behavioral healthcare field for various reasons, and we’re proud to be a part of their journeys toward making a difference. Each month we feature a student who is on the path to truly making an impact on the lives of others. Meet our Student of the Month, Flesica Fountain:

My name is Flesica Fountain. I am a youth care worker at a dual diagnosis unit for teens. I enjoy reading, crafts, gardening, and spending time with my grandkids. I have 4 children, 2 males and 2 females. I am very passionate about the work I do and the clients we serve.

I pursued education for drug and alcohol counselor related roles because I have worked in this field for over 20 years, and I see the growing need for counselors and therapists.

What I like most about studying at ATI is the teachers and the material taught. Taking courses online made it easier for me to obtain my educational goals because I have a very hectic schedule and lifestyle at times.

When I become certified, I plan to apply for a CADC position within my company.

I enjoy my job because I love making a difference in the lives of the clients we serve.

I would like to use my education to improve my skills, do more counseling, and do some more individual work with clients.

I have worked with children for the last 25 years. In the future, my goal is to broaden my horizons and work with adults as well.
