You may already have a self-care routine that you stick to throughout the year (and if you don’t, it’s never too late!), but summertime calls for enhanced wellness all around. Beyond your typical self-care steps, consider incorporating additional practices to enhance your summer self-care routine and in turn, your overall wellness:
We are passionate about our mission to provide the support, training and resources to help you and your clients succeed. We love hearing and sharing the “whys” of those who are chasing their dreams of helping make the world a better place. Our students choose to pursue an education in the behavioral healthcare field for various reasons, and we’re proud to be a part of their journeys toward making a difference. Each month we feature a student who is on the path to truly making an impact on the lives of others.
Our Student of the Month, Candace Wright, shares her experience with ATI:
I’m currently working as the Outreach Coordinator at Adult and Teen Challenge Pacific Northwest, where I help people overcome addiction. My own battle with addiction inspired me to support others, and I find great joy in seeing them succeed in their sobriety. I love Jesus and my faith motivates me in my work.
In my free time, I enjoy kayaking, camping, and reading, and spending time with my three kids. I’m currently studying Social Work at the College of Southern Idaho, alongside my studies at ATI. The Adult and Teen challenge recommended ATI, and the program has been such a blessing in my life!
My future goals include obtaining a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work and a BA in Intercultural Studies with a Pastoral Counseling Certification. Eventually, I hope to open my own residential treatment center, and write my own program. For now, I am dedicated to helping women find freedom at Adult and Teen Challenge Pacific Northwest-Life Renewal, and continuing to help others on their path to sobriety.
