Renewing annually? 50 hrs/year required.

Working toward certification? 25 CE hrs/year, 5-year limit.

1 RADT Trainee I

RADT Trainee I: 80 Hours of Core Competency Education

After obtaining your RADT Trainee I registration, you must complete 80 hours of core competency education within 6 months. You must apply for renewal at least 120 days before your registration expires.

The ATI Fix

Take any 2 SAC courses (SAC 101–106) and you’re covered — each is worth 45 hours, for 90 hours total.

2 RADT Trainee II

RADT Trainee II: 50 Hours of AOD Education, Every Year

You must complete the 80-hour AB 2473 training (topics 1–12), renew your RADT Trainee I registration, and complete a minimum of 50 hours of AOD education annually — building toward 315 hours total before advancing to RADT Intern.

SAC 101 Introduction to Substance Use Disorder Counseling

RADT Intern: 25 Hours of AOD Continuing Education Annually

You must complete 25 hours of AOD continuing education each year. Your registration is subject to a 5-year limit starting from your initial RADT Trainee I date — you must become certified within that window.
